ABOUT ME

For many years I have searched for understanding, knowledge and tools to support my emotional wellbeing.

I am fascinated by the mind; its complexity and creativity, strengths and weaknesses and have delved into many therapies, spiritual practices and understanding of psychology.

Amongst all of this, I discovered there is something deeply restorative and healing about simply giving the body an opportunity to rest and reset - so deeply nourishing for body and mind.

I have always noticed how different I feel when I take the time to engage in mind-body practices which relax my nervous system; grounded, at ease, calm, creative and heartcentred.

The mind and body are inextricably connected. By nature, our bodies are designed to be in the mode of rest and digest most of the time. We’re only supposed to be in fight, flight, freeze, or fawn mode for short bursts, yet this isn’t how so many of us live.

Modern life can be a lot- too much at times and a dysregulated nervous system leads to dysregulated emotions and behaviour.  Research shows taking time to practice relaxation and activate the parasympathetic nervous system is fundamental to our wellbeing.

My hope in setting up 'Soften-Soothe-Allow' is to provide a nuturing space for women to stop, unravel and restore balance to their lives.

Thank you for reading,

Emma.
